On October 5, 2025, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav issued statements questioning the public conduct of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at a recent event attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Yadav, utilizing a social media platform and addressing reporters, alleged that the Chief Minister’s behavior raised concerns about his “mental health” and “the ability to run the government.” He specifically inquired if Kumar appeared “mentally healthy” and pondered if his state was potentially orchestrated through a “conspiracy” by close associates, possibly influenced by BJP directives, involving “food substances.”
In a direct rebuttal, Janata Dal (United) MLC and spokesperson Neeraj Kumar dismissed Yadav’s claims. Kumar stated that Nitish Kumar is responsible for the restoration of Bihar’s “political, social, and economic health,” and suggested that Tejashwi Yadav direct his attention to the health of his father, RJD president Lalu Prasad. Yadav subsequently mentioned the Bharatiya Janata Party’s two-decade involvement in the state government.
