SBI Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) Poludasu has detailed the State Bank of India’s commitment to enhancing gender diversity and fostering an inclusive workplace for women. The bank aims to create an environment where women can thrive at all organizational levels, utilizing targeted programs to promote leadership, work-life balance, and professional dignity.

Specific women-centric initiatives include providing creche allowances for working mothers, operating a family connect program, and offering a training program designed to support women employees returning from maternity, sabbatical, or extended sick leave. A flagship initiative, ‘Empower Her’, is designed to identify, mentor, and groom women for leadership roles through structured leadership labs and coaching sessions. This program seeks to increase female representation in executive positions and develop a robust pipeline of future women executives.

The CDO affirmed the bank’s dedication to nurturing a secure and safe environment for its women employees, stating that they are well-represented across all geographies and hierarchical levels. Additionally, Poludasu noted SBI’s skilled pool of IT specialist officers and its responsive approach to evolving business models.
