Veteran politician Sharad Pawar has called for an investigation into a controversial land transaction reportedly connected to a company associated with his grandnephew, Parth Pawar. Referencing Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's public statement on the matter's seriousness, Pawar urged the Chief Minister to conduct a probe and make the facts public.
During his remarks, Pawar noted that his nephew, Ajit Pawar, has distanced himself from the transaction. He also expressed a differing view from his daughter, NCP MP Supriya Sule, regarding her defense of Parth Pawar.
Pawar additionally discussed the forthcoming local body elections in Maharashtra, stating that the strategy would be decided unanimously by the Maha Vikas Aghadi allies. He criticized the government's farmer relief package, labeling it "akin to a fraud" and highlighting that previous recipients of aid for unseasonal rains had not received current assistance. Furthermore, he described the announcement of a farmer loan waiver as "deceptive."
