Authorities in Sri Sathya Sai district have initiated preventive policing measures, placing 55 individuals under "bind-over" proceedings. Each person was required to furnish a bond of ₹5 lakh, following an assessment of their conduct during the previous month. This action included four youths from Kadiri town, who received counselling and a one-year bind-over in connection with allegations of escalating a personal dispute into a group conflict.
Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar indicated that violating the bond conditions would lead to the forfeiture of the bond amount, a potential imprisonment of up to one month, and could impact passport clearances and employment-related police verifications. These preventive actions are consistent with previous efforts, which saw 325 individuals bound over last year.
Concurrently, police have intensified surveillance in Dharmavaram and Bukkarayasamudram mandals through the deployment of night-vision drones. Special teams are monitoring suspicious movements, open drinking, and other activities deemed disruptive to public order in identified vulnerable locations. The Superintendent highlighted the effectiveness of regular drone-based monitoring in deterring crime and enhancing public safety, and appealed to residents to report any suspicious activities to the police.
