Tuchel Explains Trio's Absence from England Squad

England manager Thomas Tuchel has clarified the decision to omit Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, and Jack Grealish from the national squad for the upcoming matches against Wales and Latvia. Tuchel asserted that there were “no problems” with the players concerning their non-selection.

Regarding Bellingham, who recently recovered from a shoulder injury, Tuchel confirmed the player’s desire to be included, following a direct phone conversation. However, the manager explained that Bellingham was not recalled due to not having fully regained his match rhythm at Real Madrid, having made only one start since his return to fitness. Tuchel described Bellingham as a “special player” but opted for consistency with the established squad.

Foden and Grealish were also excluded from the squad. This decision comes despite both players reportedly returning to form with their respective clubs, Manchester City for Foden and Manchester City for Grealish.
