Union Minister Amit Shah Inaugurates Sabar Dairy Expansion in Rohtak

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the second phase of the Sabar Dairy (Amul Plant) at IMT Rohtak. The expanded facility has increased its daily production capacity to 150 metric tons of curd, 10 metric tons each of yoghurt and sweets, and three metric tons of buttermilk.

During the event, Minister Shah provided data indicating that India’s milk production has risen from 140 million tons in 2014 to 249 million tons presently, with per capita milk availability increasing from 124 grams to 471 grams. He also noted that the dairy sector has experienced 70 percent growth over the past 11 years. Haryana, where the plant is located, is ranked third nationally in milk production, yielding 122.2 lakh tonnes annually and providing 1,105 grams of milk per capita daily.

Concurrently, Minister Shah, accompanied by Chief Minister Saini, attended the Khadi Mahotsav at Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and visited an exhibition focused on new criminal laws near Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra. Minister Shah also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for projects valued at Rs 825 crore across 12 districts. Regarding the new criminal laws, it was stated that the Haryana Police have been equipped for their implementation, with approximately 45 percent of police officers and staff now connected through video conferencing.
