Addressing the Israeli parliament, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States is prepared to reach an agreement with Iran whenever Tehran demonstrates readiness to engage. This announcement follows five rounds of nuclear negotiations that preceded a 12-day conflict in June between Iran and Israel, during which the US targeted key Iranian nuclear sites.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi subsequently signaled an openness to considering a “fair and balanced” proposal from Washington, though he noted that Tehran had not yet received specific starting points for negotiations. Araqchi confirmed that both sides have been exchanging messages through intermediaries. President Trump asserted that significant regional improvement would result from Iran renouncing terrorism and recognizing Israel’s right to exist. However, Araqchi rejected the idea of normalizing ties with Israel, describing it as an “occupying regime” that has committed “genocide and killed children.”
