The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has recorded 50 cases against public servants for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes during 2025. These operations have led to the arrest of 68 individuals, encompassing both government officials and middlemen.

The 50th case involved the arrest of Srinivasan, a sub-group officer affiliated with a temple managed by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), in Alappuzha district. He was apprehended for allegedly accepting a ₹5,000 bribe in exchange for facilitating temple rituals. The VACB reported that the accused had initially requested the payment via Google Pay but was arrested while allegedly accepting the cash amount.

An analysis of the 50 cases reveals that the Revenue department accounts for 17, the Local Self-Government department for 10, and the Police department for six. Vigilance Director Manoj Abraham stated that corruption within government services is under serious monitoring and surveillance. He encouraged the public to report any demands for bribes to the VACB, assuring that action would be taken against those found involved in corruption.
