Zubeen Garg’s Death in Singapore: Post-mortem Conducted, Repatriation Plans Detailed

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has provided an update regarding the death of singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore. Singaporean authorities confirmed that a post-mortem examination of Mr. Garg’s body was conducted on Saturday, and his mortal remains are now being transferred to the accompanying team.

According to the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, Mr. Garg reportedly died while swimming in the sea without a life jacket during a yacht trip involving 17 other individuals. Singaporean authorities are currently questioning those who accompanied the singer during the incident.

Plans for repatriation indicate that Mr. Garg’s mortal remains will first be brought to Delhi and then flown to Guwahati, with an anticipated arrival in Assam potentially by Saturday evening. Upon arrival, the body is expected to be placed at Sarusajai Stadium to allow the public to pay their last respects. The singer’s family has stated their intent to cooperate with both the public and the government in determining the arrangements for the last rites, acknowledging his widespread popularity in Assam.
