ABC has announced the indefinite pre-emption of its late-night program, “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” following complaints regarding host Jimmy Kimmel’s comments on the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The decision by the broadcaster reportedly came after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chair had threatened fines related to the broadcast. An ABC spokesperson confirmed the show’s status.
This development follows earlier remarks by Kimmel, who had previously satirized former President Donald Trump’s prediction that the host would face cancellation.
