Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president C. Joseph Vijay conducted a large roadshow in the Madurantakam constituency on Friday. This event was part of campaigning for the upcoming October 6 byelection.
Mr. Vijay’s roadshow began in Mamandur and covered approximately 40 villages over four and a half hours. He interacted with locals at various points, including stopping for tea at a shop. Fans and supporters gathered in large numbers along the route, showering petals and flowers on his campaign van.
The byelection was necessitated after the previous representative resigned from the Assembly. Despite hot weather, supporters lined the roads to see the politician. The event caused significant traffic congestion, which police found challenging to manage.
