The AFC Champions League Elite match featuring Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, Al Nassr, against Uzbekistan’s Neftchi Fergana experienced a one-hour delay. This delay was attributed to a security alert issued by Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense.
The match, held at Riyadh’s Al-Awwal Park, had a small attendance. Spectators remained in their seats while players awaited the start of the game.
The Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting and destroying two ballistic missiles launched by Houthi rebels towards Riyadh. Several explosions were audible in the city on Monday night. Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense, after issuing mobile phone alerts to residents, subsequently announced that the threat had subsided.
