Singer Zubeen Garg was laid to rest on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Kamarkuchi village, Assam. The ceremony included full state honours, a gun salute, and pallbearers from the Assam Police. Garg, who passed away following a scuba diving accident in Singapore, had his mortal remains displayed in a glass casket draped with a traditional Assamese gamosa. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was among those who attended the final rites.
