Singer stated that such claims are “not scientifically based” and are derived from “very limited, conflicting and inconsistent science.” She expressed concern that making these “unsubstantiated claims” could undermine public health and mislead families. Additionally, Singer questioned the rationale behind a White House announcement on the topic, citing an apparent absence of new scientific data, studies, or presentations.
