Police in Chittoor have destroyed approximately 5,000 litres of jaggery wash. This action took place during a cordon and search operation conducted on Sunday in Yanadi Colony and the Gudduru forest area, falling under the Ramakuppam police station’s jurisdiction.

The operation was overseen by Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi and Additional Superintendent of Police Hemanth Boddu. Teams, led by Kuppam Rural Circle Inspector Mallesh Yadav and including personnel from Rallabuduguru and Ramakuppam police stations, searched forest areas believed to be used for illegal liquor production.

According to the Superintendent of Police, the thorough search resulted in the discovery of fermented jaggery wash stored in drums, intended for the preparation of arrack. The entire quantity found was destroyed at the location. Police also reviewed the movements of individuals with prior records as a preventative measure against anti-social activities.

The Superintendent of Police emphasized that the production and sale of illicit liquor are criminal offenses, and offenders will face strict legal consequences. He urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the police promptly and stated that special operations will continue throughout Chittoor district to uphold law and order and combat illegal brewing.
