The aircraft, operating as flight 6E 6115 with approximately 180 passengers and seven crew members, experienced smoke detection from a passenger’s personal electronic device. According to IndiGo, the cabin crew responded promptly and brought the situation under control.
Following established protocols, the pilots diverted the flight to Hyderabad, where it landed safely. IndiGo stated that an alternate aircraft was arranged to transport the passengers to Chennai.
