A Congress leader has called for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, citing alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters’ list.
Gidugu Rudra Raju, a member of the Congress Working Committee, stated that the ongoing efforts against these irregularities have garnered significant public attention. He pointed to a recent rally as evidence of this widespread concern.
Mr. Rudra Raju further alleged that the ruling NDA government and the Election Commission of India are colluding, and that this nexus has been exposed. He believes that the Chief Election Commissioner has no alternative but to resign due to these circumstances.
The leader also emphasized the commitment of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to protecting democracy and secularism, suggesting that their fight for voting rights will persist until justice is served for those who have allegedly lost them.
