Public demonstrations have occurred in Guwahati, India, following the drowning death of singer Zubeen Garg, 52, in Singapore on September 19. Garg passed away while attending the North East India Festival. Hundreds of individuals gathered outside the Guwahati residence of Siddharth Sarma, Garg’s manager, on Thursday, with some protesters demanding his arrest. Sarma has not made a public appearance since Garg’s death. Concurrently, demonstrators also assembled at the home of Shyamkanu Mahanta, the chief organizer of the North East India Festival.
