The eleventh edition of Ramsons Kreedaa Kaushalya has commenced in Mysuru, showcasing a collection of board games and play-counters fashioned from diverse Indian craft forms.

A new two-player race game, Patra Gattam, is among the introductions, featuring a simple single-track design. This specific game utilizes Lambani embroidery for its cloth boards and wooden counters sourced from Channapatna.

The exhibition also provides historical context on game manufacturing in India. Historically, princely states created chess sets from rare materials such as ivory and sandalwood. Presently, manufacturing has largely transitioned to cities like Saharanpur, Aligarh, and tourist centers including Jaipur and Agra, where 32-piece chess sets are produced using materials such as silver-teakwood, mahogany, brass, and copper.

Overall, the board games on display incorporate a broad spectrum of craft techniques, including silk weaving, silk embroidery, hand-woven cotton wall hangings, batik, kalamkari, and inlay.
