The budget presented by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been evaluated by various trade bodies, including the Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA).
Ganesh Rao, President of KASSIA, observed that the budget reflects the state government's ongoing commitment to economic growth, industrial development, technology advancement, and balanced regional development.
Key positive aspects identified for the industry include measures for infrastructure creation, skill development, and industrial expansion beyond Bengaluru.
The budget's emphasis on industrial growth, particularly through the "Beyond Bengaluru" scheme and the Industrial Policy 2025–30, aims to boost investments in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This approach is intended to foster decentralized industrial development, reduce regional disparities, and create employment opportunities and new markets for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs).
While acknowledging these initiatives, KASSIA suggested that greater targeted support for MSEs would further strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem. Additionally, improvements in urban infrastructure and mobility are expected to facilitate new development corridors.
