On Monday morning, Mumbai’s road network experienced significant disruptions, particularly in the central parts of the city. These conditions were primarily attributed to overnight heavy rainfall and the closure of the Elphinstone Bridge. Numerous locations, including Tilak Bridge, Hindmata, Parel, Curry Road, and Lotus Jetty in Worli, reported waterlogging that impeded vehicle movement. Areas such as Khar subway, Milan subway, Andheri subway, Dadar TT, Mankhurd, and Chembur also faced considerable traffic congestion. According to traffic police reports, an increase in traffic jams was observed at Kings Circle, Maratha Mandir Road at Agripada, and the MMRDA south-bound road at BKC, among others, due to waterlogging. Separately, traffic on the Coastal Road was also affected, and the ongoing Mount Mary Fair contributed to slow movement in Bandra, specifically from Lilavati Hospital to Mehboob Circle and Hill Road to Mehboob Circle.
