The ongoing Dasara Book Festival, situated at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Ground, has incorporated a new feature: daily book releases. On Thursday, three specific Kannada literary works were formally unveiled. These included Naanembudu Nanalla by Sanna Rama, released by Satyamangala Madeva; Naavu Namma Nudi by Meti Mallikarjuna, unveiled by Basu Bevinagidada; and Neenu Kanire mattu Mallige by K.Y. Narayanaswamy, released by Mamata G. Sagar. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including L.N. Mukundaraj, president of the Kannada Sahitya Academy, and Manasa, chairman of the Kannada Book Authority.
As a long-standing component of the Mysuru Dasara celebrations, the festival aims to provide a platform for writers to introduce their new publications to a wider audience. Beyond the daily book launches, the event hosts a diverse range of activities, such as cultural programs, seminars, and interactive sessions. An initiative titled ‘Selfie with Authors’ enables attendees to meet and photograph with writers. The festival features nearly 90 stalls, displaying approximately 50,000 books, and serves as a significant gathering point for writers, publishers, and literary enthusiasts.
