During his initial visit to Manipur since the onset of ethnic clashes in May 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with residents of relief camps. Among those who interacted with the Prime Minister was Chingtham Lembi Devi, a college student residing in the Akampat relief camp in Imphal. Lembi Devi, an internally displaced person due to the ongoing violence, was one of six individuals who met with PM Modi. Her camp currently shelters approximately 600 families affected by the displacement. During their interaction, the Prime Minister reportedly advised the residents to be “brave and patient.”
