A woman in her twenties reported being attacked by two men near Tame Road in Oldbury, West Midlands. West Midlands Police later confirmed that racist remarks were made during the incident. Following the reported assault, the woman issued a public statement expressing gratitude for the community’s “love and support.”
The Sikh Federation (UK), which has been supporting the individual, stated that the perpetrators reportedly told her, “You don’t belong in this country, get out.” West Midlands Police are actively investigating the reported attack, indicating they have “a number of positive lines of enquiry” to identify two suspects.
Community figures, including Kuldeep Singh Deol, former president of Guru Nanak Gurdwara Smethwick, have condemned the attack. Dabinderjit Singh from the Sikh Federation also highlighted significant community concern, particularly among young women, and referenced a separate recent assault on two elderly Sikh taxi drivers in the West Midlands.
