The Supreme Court of India has stated it would invalidate the entire Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar should any illegality be identified in the methodology employed by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The court noted its initial presumption that the ECI, as a constitutional body, had adhered to all applicable laws and rules, but emphasized that the full electoral roll revision exercise could be set aside if methodological impropriety is discovered at any point.
