The Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) is expanding its development efforts beyond its immediate area to include the Chandragiri, Tirupati, Srikalahasti, and Nagari constituencies.
According to TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, these expanded operations aim to accelerate development and prepare the region for future needs. Comprehensive plans are in motion to elevate Tirupati to a leading district status within the state.
TUDA is collaborating with local MLAs to prioritize public needs, focusing on infrastructure improvements such as state-of-the-art roads, drainage, and street lighting. These upgrades are intended to enhance the experience for the large number of pilgrims visiting Tirupati and alleviate traffic congestion.
Specific projects include the construction of eight major Master Plan roads totaling 19 km at a cost of ₹200 crore, improvements in the Shettipalli and Daminedu areas, and significant roadworks near the Tiruchanur temple to address traffic and parking. Additionally, a new greenfield road is being built to connect major highways, and plans are in place to improve water supply from Peruru Tank to Avilala Tank.
