Tukaram Mundhe, the chief of the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has stated that he has not been transferred from his position. He clarified on social media that he continues to serve as the Commissioner of the Maharashtra FDA.
Mundhe’s statement comes amid reports of his removal from the post. He emphasized that the FDA’s efforts against unsafe, substandard, and adulterated food, as well as spurious drugs, are ongoing.
This situation arises as the Maharashtra government appointed Mundhe to a committee tasked with investigating alleged irregularities in Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations. The formation of this committee followed a 10-day protest by MPSC aspirants.
