Authorities identified Joshua Jahn, 29, of Texas, as the suspect in a shooting incident at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas. An FBI special agent reported that Jahn intended to kill ICE agents, having fired at transport vehicles carrying ICE personnel, federal agents, and detainees. The Department of Homeland Security characterized the incident as “an attack on ICE law enforcement.” The shooting was reported to have resulted in one fatality and two injuries.
In statements from the Oval Office, President Trump commented on the rise in political violence, asserting that “the radical left is causing this problem, not the right.” He also made a separate comment regarding Russian President Putin. Separately, a federal prosecutor in the Miami US attorney’s office was terminated. The Miami Herald described this individual as a “rising star” deemed critical of President Trump. Earlier, President Trump had concluded a meeting with Turkey’s President Erdoğan.
