An autopsy report has confirmed that veteran actor Nana Patekar died of a heart attack. A senior doctor at Goa Medical College and Hospital stated that the actor suffered a heart attack due to a blood clot in a major coronary artery.
The official cause of death was cited as acute myocardial infarction resulting from a blockage in the left main coronary artery. This condition was attributed to atherosclerotic occlusive coronary artery disease, a natural cause.
Patekar, 75, was taken to a private hospital from his home in Dona Paula on October 8 after his caretaker reported he was unwell. Despite efforts to revive him with CPR for 45 minutes, he was declared dead in the early morning.
His body was later taken to Goa Medical College for the autopsy. His son arrived in Goa to collect the body, which was then transported to Pune and cremated with full state honours in Donje village.
