An Air India Express flight departing from Kannur to Abu Dhabi returned to Kannur International Airport on Sunday, September 14, 2025, after experiencing a bird strike shortly after take-off. The aircraft, carrying 180 passengers, departed at 6:36 a.m. and landed safely 45 minutes later as a precautionary measure.
Airport authorities confirmed that all passengers were safe and were subsequently transported to Abu Dhabi on an alternative service. A safety inspection of the plane was completed, and no structural damage was reported. However, a complaint regarding the nose sensor was identified, requiring specialized tools from Thiruvananthapuram for its repair.
