Over 400 former Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were denied permission by Delhi Police to protest at Jantar Mantar, despite applying a month in advance. The group, dismissed after approximately two years of service, eventually demonstrated outside BSF headquarters.

The former personnel, including cooks and water carriers, were dismissed over allegedly forged skill-certification documents. However, the Alliance of All Ex-Paramilitary Forces Welfare Associations claims they are victims of cyber fraud, stating that the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) did not issue the relevant certificates during the period in question.

The association has cited RTI replies and alleges that a cyber fraudster issued fake certificates. They also pointed to alleged inconsistencies in how similar cases were handled by the BSF, with some recruits reportedly retained or allowed to continue service after documentation issues.

Many dismissed personnel had taken bank loans and are now facing financial strain. The association is appealing for reinstatement on humanitarian grounds, requesting an opportunity to submit valid certificates and urging the BSF and Union government to review the dismissals.
