An independent filmmaker, Nihit, has alleged that he was harassed by a group of individuals during a protest in Delhi on October 10. He claims that while he was filming the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)’s demonstration, a group he described as “BJP-backed goons” subjected him to harassment.
Nihit further alleged that one person forcibly pulled his camera lens, causing it to break. He shared a video on social media, stating it showed the incident, but its authenticity could not be verified by LiveMint.
The filmmaker reported the incident to the Delhi Police, who he said asked if he had permission to film and then filed his complaint. Nihit expressed uncertainty about pursuing the matter further due to financial and emotional concerns, noting the damaged lens was crucial for his livelihood.
