The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has vowed to continue its protests against the Chief Election Commissioner, leading to the detention of approximately 200 individuals across New Delhi. The protests, held at designated sites, have resulted in a significant security presence in the capital.

The Supreme Court has intervened, directing authorities not to illegally detain peaceful protesters. The court also ordered that the Delhi Metro should function normally and internet services should not be disrupted, provided law and order is maintained.

In a special sitting, a bench of Justices also issued a notice to the central government regarding a plea that alleged violations of previous court directions. These directions aimed to prevent a complete prohibition of metro and train services due to the ongoing demonstrations.

CJP leaders, including Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, and Saurav Das, were released on the condition that they would not disturb the peace for a year. Mr. Das alleged that authorities could have engaged in dialogue instead of restricting protesters and expressed concern that their phones, taken during detention without a seizure memo, might have been hacked.
