Search operations have been significantly intensified for a 36-year-old woman reported missing since April 2, 2026, during a trek in the Tadiandamol region of Kodagu district. The escalation, which commenced on April 5, 2026, follows directives from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to expand efforts to locate the individual.

According to Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre, a total of nine teams are actively involved, including 40 personnel organized into four groups, supported by drone cameras. Kodagu district police Superintendent Bindu Mani R.N. further detailed the resources deployed, mentioning the use of both thermal and normal drones, two anti-Naxal force teams, five Forest Department teams, a police dog squad, and approximately 15 local tribal individuals assisting in the search efforts.
