Ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections, approximately 700,000 voters have been incorporated into the state’s electoral rolls. Officials report that about 322,000 of these new voters are designated for the first phase of polling, while nearly 388,000 will participate in the second phase. Detailed demographic data, including the number of first-time voters and a gender-wise breakdown, along with figures for Form-6 applications and rejections, has not yet been publicly disclosed by the commission. Following these additions, West Bengal’s total electorate stands at 68,251,008. This expansion occurs after a previous Special Intensive Revision report highlighted West Bengal’s 10.9% net deletion rate, stemming from the removal of deceased, shifted, and duplicate voters.
