On Thursday morning, three individuals sustained injuries in Palakkad district, Kerala, during two separate incidents suspected to involve wild elephants. The first event, occurring around 3 am in Mulli, Attappadi, a tribal area, involved a man who sustained facial scratches. According to medical professionals, the man was intoxicated and in a forest area at the time, leading to a need for confirmation regarding the exact cause of his injuries. The second incident resulted in minor injuries for a woman and an auto driver, and the Forest Department has initiated an investigation to ascertain elephant involvement.

These incidents in Palakkad follow recent fatal encounters elsewhere in the region. A 65-year-old man was killed in a wild elephant attack in Wayanad district on Wednesday, an event that transpired as officials and residents attempted to drive the animal from a populated area. The preceding Tuesday, a woman died in Chinnakanal, Idukki, an area recognized for its repeated wild elephant intrusions into human settlements.
