Approximately 40 pilots who operate SpiceJet’s Q400 aircraft have reportedly stopped flying. This action is in response to pending salary dues owed to them by the airline.

The Airline Pilots’ Association of India (ALPA India) has publicly stated its support for these pilots. In a letter, the association indicated it would provide moral, logistical, professional, and consultative assistance to aid the pilots in resolving their concerns.

ALPA India noted that the pilots have taken this stand to protect their rights, professional dignity, and aviation safety. The association highlighted that these pilots have been working under significant stress due to ongoing financial and operational difficulties at the airline.

Reports also indicate that unpaid vendors have withheld essential aircraft services. These issues, combined with delayed salaries and outstanding benefits, have created increasingly challenging working conditions, according to the association.
