Personnel from the 19 Grenadiers Battalion recently provided support at the wedding of Aradhana, sister of their former colleague Ashish Kumar. Ashish Kumar was killed in action on August 27, 2024, during “Operation Alert” in Arunachal Pradesh. Members of the battalion fulfilled traditional roles for the bride, escorting her to the mandap, and also presented her with a fixed deposit of Rs 5 lakh. Ashish Kumar’s family, including his elder brother Rahul Kumar and father Mangi Ram, expressed gratitude for the battalion’s gesture. Personnel had also previously visited the family’s home on August 27, marking the one-year anniversary of Ashish’s death, with additional assistance provided by the Ex-Servicemen Association.
