An 86-year-old individual, identified as Helen, recently participated in a fitness session with trainer Yasmin Karachiwala. During this session, Helen advocated for the accessibility of Pilates, emphasizing its adaptability for various fitness levels. She demonstrated several exercises designed to improve mobility, including a modified "Stand to sit" movement, which involves lifting the hips from a supine position with bent knees. Additionally, Helen showcased a "Marching" exercise, performed by alternately lifting legs to a tabletop position while lying down, and "Wall pushups," executed by lowering the body towards a wall with hands placed on the wall. Consultant dietitian and diabetes educator Kanikka Malhotra commented on healthy aging, highlighting that physical movement is valuable and not limited to younger individuals.
