The Ministry of Finance has completed its relocation from the historic North Block to the new Central Secretariat building. This transition represents a significant change for many officials, some of whom have spent over 40 years of their careers in the North Block. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman engaged with personnel during the move, visiting office rooms and participating in photographs with staff. The North Block previously housed several key government departments, including the Ministries of Finance; Home; and Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Separately, Samajwadi Party (SP) veteran Azam Khan, 77, has been receiving numerous visitors in Rampur since his release last week, after spending 23 months in judicial custody. Following his return, Mr. Khan traveled to Delhi for health assessments. A forthcoming meeting with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, scheduled for October 8, has been noted by political observers.
