The Ahmedabad City Police have issued notifications detailing extended road and bridge closures within the city. These measures are a result of delays in the ongoing construction of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor, commonly known as the bullet train project.
One notification addresses work at the Cadila bridge, located between Sabarmati and Vatva, where segments are being installed on pillars. Originally scheduled for earlier completion, this work has been extended until November 15 due to technical reasons and railway scheduling. Consequently, the BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System) corridor in this area will be unavailable, with buses rerouted outside the corridor. Normal traffic will be permitted on the non-construction side of the bridge during night hours.
The second notification pertains to the Saraspur area, where a new bullet train station is under construction, requiring the placement of a pillar. A 500-meter stretch of road, specifically from the RC Technical Institute to Faizan School, will remain closed for an additional three months. This closure, initially implemented with a diversion, has been extended due to the work not being completed as originally planned.
