Authorities have arrested Mangat Singh in Alwar district, Rajasthan, on charges of allegedly spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. Singh was presented before a special court in Jaipur on Saturday, October 11, 2025, and subsequently remanded to police custody for three days following his arrest on Friday, October 10.
Officials state that Singh, a resident of Govindgarh, Alwar, had reportedly maintained contact with a female Pakistani “handler” for two years. He is accused of sharing sensitive information related to Indian military movements, including photos and videos from Alwar and Ambala Cantonment areas, via social media platforms. According to the investigation, Singh allegedly received over ₹10,000 in multiple transactions from Pakistan in exchange for this information. His mobile phone reportedly contained records of these exchanges, including coded messages.
The public prosecutor indicated that Singh allegedly used religious gatherings to gain trust and interact with Army and BSF personnel. Investigations are ongoing, with agencies preparing to question individuals who may have interacted with the accused.
