Australian captain Alyssa Healy has offered her perspective on the developing rivalry between Australia and India, ahead of their scheduled 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup match in Vizag. Healy characterized India as a “sleeping giant” within women’s cricket, noting the expanding competition between the two nations.
According to Healy, India presents a “real threat” when competing in their home conditions, anticipating that Australia will face significant pressure. She specifically mentioned Jemimah Rodrigues, suggesting the batter could play a “really big role” against Australia, despite past dismissals by left-arm orthodox bowling, though the final playing XI remained unconfirmed.
Healy also highlighted the “crucial role” of the power play segment in achieving a strong start during World Cup fixtures.
