Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly division has implemented heightened security measures in advance of the Dussehra festival. These measures include the deployment of drones and armed police personnel. Bareilly district is also subject to a 48-hour internet suspension, which remains in effect until October 4. This action, following unrest on September 26, aims to curb the spread of misinformation and mitigate communal tensions on social media platforms. Four districts within the division are currently on high alert, and officials have been advised to maintain vigilance.
