Bengaluru Cash Van Incident: Police Detail Planning and Investigation

Police have disclosed details regarding a cash van heist that targeted a CMS Info Systems vehicle in South Bengaluru on Wednesday, November 19. According to official reports, the perpetrators spent approximately three months planning the operation, which included extensive monitoring of the cash van's daily routes and movements. The timing of the heist was aligned with a period of peak ATM cash replenishment in the area.

Investigators further revealed that the group undertook a two-week reconnaissance of the route prior to the incident, employed more than two vehicles with frequently altered number plates, and specifically targeted non-serialised currency to impede tracing efforts. The individuals involved also reportedly monitored real-time media updates, and a police constable was identified as having overseen the operation.

Recent police updates indicate a significant advancement in the investigation, with authorities leveraging forensic evidence and surveillance footage to identify key members of the group and reconstruct their activities leading up to the heist.
