The recent Kerala Assembly election results indicate a significant regional performance by the United Democratic Front (UDF) across four central Kerala districts. The Left Democratic Front (LDF) secured no seats in Ernakulam (14 Assembly seats), Kottayam (9 seats), and Idukki (5 seats).
Conversely, the LDF achieved a notable success in Thrissur district, where it won 9 of the 13 available seats, thereby limiting the UDF's overall gains in the central Kerala region. In Ernakulam, a constituency historically associated with UDF strength, the Congress and its allies secured all seats. This outcome included the defeat of P. Rajeeve, a prominent CPI (M) leader and former Industries Minister, marking a shift from the 2021 elections when the LDF had secured five seats in that district.
