A Delhi court has taken cognizance of a prosecution complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against businessman Robert Vadra and eight other individuals. The complaint pertains to a money laundering case linked to a land deal in Shikohpur, Haryana. Special Judge Sushant Changotra of Rouse Avenue Court determined there was sufficient material to proceed with the case. The charges have been recognized under Sections 3 and 70 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), with punishment provisions under Section 4. All accused, including Mr. Vadra, have been summoned to appear on May 16. The case details involve the 2008 acquisition of 3.5 acres of land in Shikohpur for ₹7.5 crore by Skylight Hospitality, a company formerly directed by Mr. Vadra, and its subsequent sale four years later to DLF for ₹58 crore. Separately, the ED had previously attached 43 immovable properties associated with Mr. Vadra, Skylight Hospitality Pvt Ltd, and others. The agency is also conducting another investigation involving Mr. Vadra related to UK-based arms consultant Sanjay Bhandari.
