Veteran Indian actor Dharmendra, born Dharam Singh Deol, known for a prolific six-decade career in cinema and a former member of parliament, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. He died at his residence in Mumbai.
Throughout his extensive career, Dharmendra starred in over 300 films, including acclaimed productions such as "Sholay," "Chupke Chupke," and "Satyakam," establishing himself as a prominent figure in Indian cinema. Beyond his acting contributions, he served as a member of the 14th Lok Sabha, representing Bikaner for the BJP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged Dharmendra's significant impact on Indian cinema, noting his diverse roles and public admiration. He is survived by his wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and children Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha, and Ahana Deol.
