An online museum titled Goa Water Stories has launched, offering an open-access multimedia platform to present ground-level research and personal accounts from Goa. Conceptualized by independent artist and researcher Wency Mendes, the project seeks to provide a local perspective that contrasts with common external depictions of the region. It encompasses 18 diverse topics, including the salt pens of Pernem, the ecology of the Western Ghats, and specific marine life. Contributions from researchers, NGO workers, artists, and architects highlight the environmental consequences of development, such as illegal borewells in areas like Anjuna, and their potential impact on local ecosystems and cultural heritage.
