The resignation, made public on Sunday via Facebook, occurs amidst an ongoing inquiry concerning missing saroops, which are Sikh holy scriptures.
Recently, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that 169 saroops had been located at the Rasokhana Nabh Kanwal Raja Sahib Gurdwara in Banga. This discovery is part of a broader investigation into 328 saroops that were previously reported missing. Dr. Sukhi conveyed his intention to engage with Chief Minister Mann and the leadership of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to communicate what he described as the "sanctity" and "truth" of the gurdwara, emphasizing its non-political significance to him.
